Abilities, Weaknesses and Power Limitations: 
Growing up with incredibly limited contact with the outside world Max is essentially feral; he can't read, write or speak, and this as well as his physical appearance makes it hard for him to bridge misunderstandings, though he can and will parrot sounds he hears during trials... Sadly however are usually just different types of moans and screams. He's never needed to with any other motion other than violence, so lashing out is usually his initial reaction to things, so other words are rare. 

In spite of his lack of academics however Max is a very tactile learner, learning to both use and modify the family chainsaw with picture manuals and hours of gashed limbs and lost finger tips. His reaction to pain is low, what is likely decades of torture at the hands of a hungry emotion-eating Entity dulling its effects on him physically- it still hurts, but he can and will soldier through it, for better or worse.  Spending years learning and hunting victims of the Entity also has solidly impacted his mobility, Thompson jr. being able to comfortably sprint for a surpirsing amount of time considering his visibly twisted gait.
